The Hervey Bay Model Aero Club inc. was formed in Hervey Bay, originally under the name Susan River Model Aero Club inc., mainly because of the location of the flying field. The club was formed in May, 2002 as a private recreation/hobby association. The club was incorporated in December 2002.In 2007 however the club's name was altered to more accurately identify its origins.
The Hervey Bay Model Aero Club is a non-profit organization, enabling members of all ages to enjoy the hobby and sport of flying outdoor remote controlled model aircraft, in a safe and supportive environment.
Flying Operations.
Flying operations are conducted on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday mornings between the hours of 7:00am and 11:00am. Visitors and prospective members of all ages are always welcome. With trial flights available for anyone interested in the hobby.
The club is located on an extensively cleared area of land with one of the best flying fields and pit areas in Queensland. The club also has several instructors ready to assist and train new members.
